Amid the soaring temperature in the country, IMD has issued heat wave alerts across various states. Large parts of northern and central India are in the grip of extreme heatwave conditions. The schools have also ordered early summer breaks this year considering the rising heat and prevailing heat wave conditions and to protect students from its adverse impact. However, summer breaks are not announced in every school yet despite the rising temperature.
ANI reported several school students fainting at a school in Sheikhpura, Bihar due to the high temperature and heatwave conditions. The video shared by ANI on the social media “X” showed several girls who could not bear the heat and fainted. The parents of the students were informed and the girls were later taken to the hospital at Sadar Hospital Shiekhpura, Bihar.

Dr Rajnikanth Kumar, Sadar Hospital Sheikhpura said that condition of the students is stable now. Dr Kumar added that students are facing problem due to the rising temperature. He said that students should be hydrated always and drink as much water as possible. Dr Kumar recommended students to not to come out in the heat and carry water bottles.
The school head master, Middle School, Mankaul said that around 6-7 students fainted during the assembly prayers due to the extreme heat conditions. However, students were provided with the first aid but later hospitalised to the nearby hospital. Head master said that students are facing problems due to high temperature. The schoold administration subsequently informed the district education department about the incident, the head master told.
On Tuesday, May 28 recorded the extreme temperature at several places in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. The temperature reached near 50 degree celsius, which was the highest temperature recorded in this season. The Indian Meteorological Department said that respite could be found only after May 30. The absence of western disturbances during the latter half of May has attributed the heatwave conditions over the northwest and central India, the IMD Director said.
