Union Minister Of Education Will Launch SWAYAM Plus Platform

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union”s Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship will introduce the SWAYAM Plus platform on February 27, 2024. As per the Education Ministry, this platform will provide courses that are in line with business requirements and are designed to improve students” employability.

SWAYAM Plus platform will serve as a pillar in supporting an all-encompassing digital environment for students, teachers, and business professionals. The launch of SWAYAM Plus is to unlock the educational potential and shape the future of education in the country by bringing inclusivity.

Reportedly, the goal of the initiative is to guarantee that everyone, even the most disadvantaged, has access to the best teaching and learning tools.

MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) about school and higher education are already being offered through SWAYAM Portal. NCERT offers 30 courses for Classes XI and XII covering 11 subjects through the SWAYAM portal. There are Special activity-based and highly engaging modules prepared on the pedagogies to experiential learning and competency-based learning.

The Ministry of HRD Project called “Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds” (SWAYAM), provides one integrated platform and portal for online courses. This includes all courses in the skill sector and higher education subjects. The goal is to guarantee that every student in our nation has access to the highest caliber of affordable higher education.

It is anticipated that the courses offered on SWAYAM would lessen the digital gap by giving everyone access to the greatest information. These courses are offered without charge and are created by well-known educators in the nation. It is anticipated that in the near future, student learning results will be enhanced through the integration of SWAYAM MOOCs with traditional education.

Over the course of 2016, 2448 distinct MOOCs have been created for SWAYAM, totaling 6,945 courses that have been taught to over 2.47 crore students. To date, over 8.63 lakh students have been certified. As a result, these courses give the instructors and the institution that offers them a great deal of exposure both domestically and internationally.
