A bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah was hearing the petition, today, to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam and hold it again over the alleged paper leak and malpractice in the NEET 2024. The writ petition filed under Article 32 of the constitution seeks a stay on counseling and the cancellation of the earlier result and demands the re-conduct of the examination. The petitioners include Shivangi Mishra and 9 others questioning the decision of the National Testing Agency over exam conduct and result procedure.

Advocate Mathew J Neumpara, appearing for the petitioners, sought a stay on counseling however, the vacation bench posted the matter on July 8 seeking a response from NTA and refused to stay the counseling process for admission of those who have cleared the exam. Meanwhile, NTA will file a response to the allegations. J Nath said, “Issue notice, in the meantime, the response will be filed by the NTA …. Let the counseling start we are not stopping the counseling”.
The Supreme Court bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said to NTA on a plea seeking cancellation of NEET-UG 2024 over the alleged paper leak, “The sanctity has been affected, so we need answers”.

The Supreme Court issued notice to the Centre and NTA on a plea that sought cancellation of of NEET-UG 2024 exams.
Earlier on May 17, the higher court bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud refused to stay the declaration of the NEET – UG exam results and posted the matter in July. The bench stated that the results of the exams held on a pan-India basis can not be stayed.
