Jammu And Kashmir Polls: BJP Releases 3rd List Of Candidates

BJP has released the third list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The latest list of BJP has a total of 29 candidates. The elections in the newly formed state will start from September 18.

The elections to the legislative assembly of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 4. The elections mark the first since the reorganisation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. The saffron party had announced the first and second list of candidates earlier.

In the latest list, the BJP has fielded Ashok Bhat from Habbakadal, Mohammad Akram Choudhary from Gulabgarh, Kuldeep Raj Dubey from Reasi, Baldev Raj Sharma from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Thakur Randhir Singh from Kalakote-Sunderbani, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali to from Budhal, Mohammad Iqbal Malik from Thannamandi, Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari from Surankote, Choudhary Abdul Ghani from Poonch Haveli, Murtaza Khan from Mendhar, Pawan Gupta from Udhampur West, Balwant Singh Mankotia from Chenani.

Congress and the National Conference have joined hand and finalised an agreement for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. As per the arrangement, Congress will contest 33 out of the 90 Assembly seats, while the National Conference will field candidates in 52 constituencies. Notably, the two parties will engage in a friendly fight on the remaining five seats. Congress on August 26 released its first list of candidates.
