Mangal Prabhat Lodha has proven successful in managing multiple careers. He is a property magnate and a politician. He founded realty firm Lodha group in Mumbai in 1980, and is now known as Macrotech Developers. In the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, he is contesting as a BJP candidate from Malabar Hill Assembly Constituency in South Mumbai, a seat which he has been representing quite a few times.

Though there is much to talk about his life as a successful realtor, his long political career and side as a law maker is an interesting aspect to look into. To invest his full attention to political and social activities, Lodha has handed over his business empire to this two sons several years back.
Lodha was interested in politics and national issues even from his early days. Since young age, he was associated with the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and later joined BJP. He currently holds the position of the vice-president of Maharastra unit of they party. He served as the Mumbai president of the BJP until 2022.
He represented Malabar Hill assembly segment in 1995, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. In the 2014 polls, he won the seat by defeating Shiv Sena’s Arvind (arun) Devji Dudhwadkar with a vote margin of 68,686 votes and in 2019, Lodha defeated Congress candidate Heera Navaji Devasi by a margin of 71,872 votes.

As a lawmaker, his significant contributions include introduction of the the RTI Act in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha in 1997, and bringing distinct law/regulations in favour of over 50,000 housing societies. Lodha proposes the RTI act year before the Central government placed the act at the national level.
The 288 Assembly seats in Maharashtra will go to polls on November 20. The ruling Mahayuti alliance in the state consists of the BJP, the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP and the opposition, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprises the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar).
