Mohammed Azharuddin Reveals Main Focus For Jubilee Hills Constituency After Winning
Mohammed Azharuddin, who has recently received Congress ticket for the upcoming election in Telangana, has revealed his plans for the Jubilee Hills constituency. The former Indian cricket team Captain also pronounced his gratitude towards the Congress party for rooting for him.
While talking to a news channel, Mr. Azharuddin said he is “grateful to the Congress High Command, including Mallikarjun Kharge ji, Rahul ji, Sonia madam and Priyanka Gandhi madam, as well as TPCC President Revanth Reddy”. He also added that there would not be fun in contesting if there is no competition and as a player he is used to competition, when asked about competition he faced while securing the Congress ticket for the upcoming election.
Mr. Azharuddin said If he bagged the position in upcoming Telangana Assembly polls, his predominant focus will be to address the issue of open drainages in the constituency as the residents are not only facing “difficulties in commuting but are also facing ill”. He remarked that only some parts of Hyderabad has been developed. The increased concretisation in Hyderabad has resulted in the stagnation of water and the mixing of rain water with sewage which would often overflow to the roads and caused mayhem.
Jubilee Hills is a place where minority voters plays a key role. From Congress party, Mr. Azharuddin and Vishnuvardhan Reddy are seeking the ticket. Mr. Reddy has represented the constituency before. BJP have three female candidates, one among which is actress Jeevitha. BRS has opted the sitting MLA Maganthi Gopinath, who is a film producer.
Mr. Azharuddin is running for the member of legislative assembly from the Jubilee Hills constituency. The cricketer turned politician became the member of Parliament from the Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency in 2009.
The former captain of Indian national cricket team has earlier served as the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association.
