Gomas Srinivas is one of the leaders who switched over to the BJP and is included in the second candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Gomas Srinivas is the BJP candidate from the Peddapalle constituency. His name was included in the second list of the saffron party which consists of 72 candidates, including six from Telangana.

Gomasa Srinivas joined the BJP by quitting from Congress party. Born in 1969, Gomasa hails from the village of Manchryala. He has completed his post-graduation in Political Science. From 1982 to 1992, he served as the state leader of Vidyarthi Sangha. He then joined Congress in 1993. In 2009, Gomasa was denied the Congress party ticket to contest the election and joined the TRS party and contested the election as the candidate from the Peddappalli constituency.

Though the saffron party has already fielded Gomasa Srinivas for the seat, there is discontentment over his candidature. Gomasa Srinivas from BJP, former Minister Koppula Eshwar from BRS, and Gaddam Vamsi Krishna from Congress are in the race for the Peddapalli parliamentary seat.

Srinivas believes that the BJP wave and Modi’s charisma and Netakani social class votes are expected to come together for his victory. There are 33,000 Singareni workers and their families in Ramagundam, Manthani, Chennur, Mancherial and Bellampally assembly constituencies in the Peddapalli parliamentary constituency and 1,50,000 people together. There are 40,000 working and retired workers in Singareni and 2,00,000 people along with their families.

Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana. The constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the scheduled castes.

Since its inception, the constituency has been a stronghold for Congress. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, BRS candidate Venkatesh Netha Borlakunta won the seat by defeating the Congress candidate by 4,41,321 votes.
