Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo has announced the party’s second list of candidates for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh elections. Out of a total of 175 assembly constituencies in the state, the JSP and BJP have been allotted 31 seats.

By announcing the new set of names, TDP has announced so far 126 seats. Only 16 seats are left to be named as the party is contesting from 144 seats as part of the NDA in the southern state. By announcing the names of the candidates on X, the TDP leader wrote that they have already announced the names of the candidates who will contest in the forthcoming 2024 polls. And now a new list consisting of 34 candidates” names has been published.

As per Chandrababu Naidu, public opinion has been accorded prominence in selecting the candidates for the election. The TDP leader also requested the people to bless the candidates and ensure their victory.

For the state assembly and Lok Sabha election, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) sealed a seat-sharing pact in the state of Andra Pradesh on Monday. As per the pact, the BJP will contest from six seats, the TDP from 17, and the JSP from two seats for the parliamentary election.

In the assembly elections, the BJP will contest from 10 seats, the TDP from 144 seats, and the JSP from 21 seats.

The alliance partners are moving ahead with the same sentiment they shared during the 2014 polls. Pawan Kalyan had only campaigned for the TDP-BJP alliance in the 2014 polls. They both shared power till 2018 when they pulled out of NDA over non-fulfillment of the promise to accord special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Stating the same issue earlier, Pawan Kalyan too had earlier distanced himself from both parties over the issue.

As of now, all three parties have decided to hold hands to remove the YSR Congress from power.
