BSP president Mayawati on Thursday reacted to circulation of a video (by Congress, according to the BSP chief) in connection with upcoming assembly elections and dubbed it as “unfortunate and a symbol of their frustration.”

Taking to social media platform X, BSP supremo writes: “Congress circulating a completely wrong and fake video with the content “even if BJP wins but Congress should not win” before voting in MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan etc.’ is unfortunate and a symbol of their frustration.” She adds that the current strategy emerged when they started feeling the strong position of BSP and asked people to be careful.

Continuing further, Mayawati says that it highlights the continuation of Congress“s “extreme false propaganda.” BSP has requested the people to be cautious of the strategies of opposition parties like “saam, daam, dand, bhed,” meaning “by any and all means.”

She also added that the strong positioning of the BSP in the ongoing elections is clear from the panic of Congress.

BSP President,  attacking opposition parties, especially the Congress, said that it is “highly inappropriate and unfortunate” as the instead of fighting against BJP in the upcoming election,  the grand old party is continuing with their old foul games against BSP. People should be careful and Election Commission should take notice about these activities.

For the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Mayawati”s BSP is contesting in 183 seats out of 230 Assembly seats, and its alliance Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) in 47 seats.  The party secured only two seats in the previous assembly polls.

Similarly, in Rajasthan, it has fielded 94 candidates. In 2018 assembly elections, out of the 190 seats BSP contested, it won six seats and secured 4.03% total vote share. Despite BSP encountered a huge setback when six of its MLA quit party and joined Congress in 2019, the party is hopeful about its prospect in Rajasthan.
