It appears that the golden era for the Malayalam film industry is here. With back-to-back critical and commercial hits such as Manjummel Boys, Premalu, Bramayugam, and the recent Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), Malayalam cinema has been delivering banger hits in across all genres with excellent acting performances, direction and unique stories.

And the trend seems to continue with the recently released Aavesham directed by Romancham fame Jithu Madhavan. The film has garnered positive reviews by netizens who cannot get over the highlight of the film: Fahadh Faasil’s Ranga.

Here’s user Amutha Bharathi list out the highlights of Aavesham. He states, “Both First half and second was too good filled with many Fun moments, Goosebumps Interval block and Climax, Excellent performance from Fahadh Faasil, Few lags were there in mid of second half but don’t affect the flow much. Superb writing with an gripping screenplay…another quality content from Romancham Director. Overall A super watch…. It’s pure theatrical experience movie!! RECOMMENDED”

Another X (formerly known as Twitter) user rates the film 3.5 out of 5 and writes, “An action-comedy entertainer with a simple storyline, FaFa as usual good performance… comedy worked in most parts…interval block fight sequence was soo good. This movie has some flaws and lags though but overshadowed by its some entertaining moments and good climax. Overall an good popcorn entertainer!!”

One of the X users could not seem to get over the zesty flavour of the film. Abineesh Babu said, “A terrific first half followed by a decent SH till the climax. But an Al-Kidu Climax sequence with a “Thookk Mode” FaFa makes Aavesham a perfect theatre material. Eda Monee…. Thookki Parathi Kidathi Kamazhthi adi loading.”

Sharon writes, “Aavesham starts with heavy blockbuster vibes right from the first minute but loses momentum in between, however it finishes off in some style. Terrific interval & climax block. A NO BRAINER FESTIVAL PADAM THAT CAN ENTERTAIN A FULL HOUSE.”

It seems that Aavesham has a consensus about its overall entertaining factor, with most reviewers praising the solid first half and an engaging climax. Although the film is noted to lag at a few places, social media can’t help but hail the star of the film Fahadh Faasil for his all-out quirky Ranga and the fun ride it promises.

The film also stars Sajin Gopu, Mansoor Ali Khan, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mithun Jai Shankar, Roshan Shanavas, and Midhutty in key roles. Sushin Shyam has composed the music of the film with lyrics penned by Vinayaka Sasikumar.
