Indian cinema is all set to witness another biopic with Akshay Kumar teaming up with actor R Madhavan and Ananya Panday. Carrying out this prestigious project, Dharma Productions will be exploring the life of a man who challenged the British empire and the one man journey of justice.

Announcing the official release date of the historic film, the production house introduced the Karan Singh Tyagi’s directorial which follows the shocking cover up of a massacre and the unprecedented battle of the man – C Sankaran Nair against the British empire.

The film is set in the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and focuses on the story of the barrister who challenged the British Empire to acknowledge the horror of the incident that took place in the pre-Independence era. It is based on a book titled The Case That Shook The Empire, written by Raghu Palat (great-grandson of Sankaran Nair) and wife, Pushpa Palat.

Even though, the makers keeps major details under the wraps,  it is believed to be a hard-hitting courtroom drama where Akshay plays the role of Nair. And as per the announcement, the film will arrive in cinemas on March 14, 2025.

Progressing with the project, the team is immersed in their post production phase, working hard to recreate India and London from the British era. Moreover, specific portions of the film was shot in Jama Masjid in Delhi. The actor also shot in Goregaon, Mumbai where a massive set of Jallianwala Bagh had been built to shoot the sequence.
