Finally, it’s time for Payal Kapadia’s Grand Prix-winning film All We Imagine As Light to make its entry into the Indian theaters. The critically acclaimed film will hit Indian theaters this November.

The Malayalam-Hindi film will be released in Indian theaters followed by its premiere at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival., The film is set to be served as the opening film of the festival. The MAMI festival, which will run from 19 to 24 October, features a lineup of critically acclaimed films, culminating with Sean Baker’s Anora as the closing film.

After its legendary win, the film titled Prabhayay Ninachathellam in Malayalam was released in limited theaters in Kerala on September 21 by Spirit Media, the production house of the actor-producer Rana Daggubati.

The movie is an official Indo-French co-production between Chalk and Cheese Films from India and Petit Chaos from France. Indian producers Zico Maitra (Chalk and Cheese Films) and Ranabir Das (Another Birth) played a crucial role in the film’s creation, with Das also serving as the cinematographer.

The story revolves around Prabha (Kusruti), a nurse in Mumbai whose life spirals into chaos after receiving a rice cooker from her estranged husband. Anu (played by Divya Prabha), Prabha’s roommate and colleague, is navigating her own struggles as she searches for privacy to spend time with her boyfriend in the crowded city. Parvati (Kadam), Prabha’s best friend and a widow, is being forced out of her home by relentless property developers.

The ensemble cast of the film includes Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chayya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon, Azees Nedumangad, and Tintumol Joseph.
