Dunki Is Shah Rukh Khan's Lowest Budget Film: Report

Reportedly, Dunki will be Shah Rukh Khan’s “lowest budgeted film in 6 years”. The much-anticipated Rajkumar Hirani helmed Shah Rukh Khan starrer will hit the theatres on December 21. After several attempt to do movies together, this is the first time Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani coming together to enthral the audience.

After owning two consecutive astronomical success, “King Khan” is all set to lift the bar of success a little more high. With Jawaan and Pathaan being huge success, there are a lot of speculations on the budget of the film. The speed with which the movie was wrapped up also left fans curious, as most of his recent movies took huge time frame.

Pinkvilla reported that the cost of production for Dunki is just 85 crores. The amount does not include the money given to the casts of the movie. The budget of the film, including print and publicity is assumed to be 120 crores. It is also worth noting that the movie was wrapped in just 75 shoot days, with Shah Rukh Khan appearing for 60 days. The star often shuttled between Dunki and Jawaan.

Rajkumar Hirani is known for his calculous moves. The director is said to plan the shoot of Dunki by aligning it with the schedule of Jawaan, which obviously took up a lot of days to complete. The reason behind the movie do not taking much time for its post-production was because, the master mind, Rajkumar Hirani used to get done with the editing part between the schedules of the movie’s shoot.

The film can be said to be in the profit zone. Considering the whopping success brought in by Jawan, the movie is believed to be on the table of 100 crores profit already, and the worldwide theatrical share would only add to the profit bank. Both Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are coming out form  theatrical mass, and Dunki is branded as “pure pyaar”.
