Here Is Why Actor Akshay Kumar Wants The British Government To Watch 'Kesari Chapter 2'
Actor Akshay Kumar is all set to bring life to the rebellious Indian lawyer C. Sankaran Nair through the upcoming film, Kesari Chapter 2, while flipping through the darkest pages of Indian history, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Along with reminding this generation of the injustice and cruelty of the British Empire, Akshay Kumar’s film also has another mission to accomplish. What is it?
Kesari Chapter 2 is marching forward to hit theaters on April 18; the film directed by Karab Singh Tyagi features Akshay as Sankaran Nair, the lawyer who fought a legal battle against General Dyer, and R. Madhavan as the opposition counsel Neville McKinley.
In the recent film promotion, actor Akshay Kumar shared his connection with the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He revealed that his grandfather witnessed the entire Jallianwala Bagh incident and had shared his experience with Akshay and his father. Akshay said, “I have known a lot about the massacre since I was a child, so the film is very special to me. The event has been etched in my mind always…”
Moreover, the actor also shared his thoughts about the British government watching Kesari Chapter 2. Akshay said that he doesn’t want them to apologize but to at least watch this movie and “realize the mistake.”
And he said, “The apology is bound to happen; it will flow on its own. But I want them to watch this film. I want the British government and King Charles to watch this film. They should see what happened. The rest will follow automatically.”

Inspired by true events, Kesari Chapter 2 delves into the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the fight for justice led by C. Sankaran Nair, a lawyer and former president of the Indian National Congress (INC). The film has been produced by Dharma Productions, Cape Of Good Films & Leo Media Collective.
Following the 2021 film Sardar Udham, which approached the same historical event through the lens of revolutionary violence, Kesari Chapter 2 offers a different perspective on seeking justice for historical atrocities through legal channels rather than retribution.
