Kamal Hassan’s “Indian 2” To Release On This Date (image-X/Lyca Productions)
The much-anticipated sequel of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2” will be in theaters on July 12, announced Lyca Productions. The first single will be released this Wednesday, as the X (formerly known as Twitter) post says “Get ready to welcome the comeback of the SENAPATHY”.
Directed by Shankar, Indian was a 1996 blockbuster. It is considered as the cult classic of Kamal Haasan”s career. The second part is expected to be even more spiced up with Anirudh Ravichandran”s music.
Being the most celebrated movie of that era, Indian depicted Senapathy as a freedom fighter who fought against the British and the corruption during the 90s as a vigilante. Being a revolutionary film at the time, the sequel is expected to raise the bar and also create an impact in the society.
Since the making of the sequel was announced in 2019, the expectations of the comeback of Senapathy has been high among the audience. And now, after 5 years, with the official announcement about the release date and the release of its first single on May 22, the Indian 2 team has finally given the audience a sneak peek into the exciting project.
“Vanakam India, the first single from Indian 2 in Rockstar Anirudh is dropping on May 22. Get ready to welcome the SENAPATHY. Releasing worldwide in cinemas 12th July 2024.”, said the post. The poster was shared in three languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The Telugu and Hindi versions are titled “Hindustani 2” and “Bharateeyudu 2.” In the poster, the silhouette of the actor can be seen riding a horse.

Apart from Kamal Hassan, the film also features Kajal Agarwal, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Kalidas Jayaram, Samuthirakani, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu and Vivek among others.
