"Layered And Deeply Human": Genelia Deshmukh On Her Role In Sitaare Zameen Par

Aamir Khan is set to bring an inspirational story with the thematic sequel, Sitaare Zameen Par. With a set of 10 debutantes, Aamir’s version of the film is currently making headlines. Genelia Deshmukh, collaborating with the actor-producer for the first time,  shared her experience working with him and about her character.

This collaboration with the multifaceted actor is something special for the actress. Calling the film “incredibly special,” Genelia expressed her excitement about being part of a project that reunited her with meaningful cinema and a powerhouse performer like Aamir.

While briefing about her role, the Ved actress shared that her role in the film is unlike anything she had done before. Describing her character, Genelia added that it was “emotional, layered and deeply human.”

The trailer of the film released by Aamir Khan Productions has been receiving a wide reception from fans. The movie has also become the talk of the town for some specific reasons. Genelia also added, “I am truly grateful for the love the trailer has received.” Just like the audience, the actress is also excited about the film.

Genelia will be playing a brief yet impactful role in the film as Aamir Khan’s love interest.  The project marks a nostalgic full-circle moment for her, who had earlier won hearts as Aditi in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008), a film also backed by Aamir Khan Productions.

The film explores the sports journey of 10 people with disabilities and narrates their path to victory and inclusion. Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach to a team of specially-abled children, setting the stage for an inspiring and entertaining narrative laced with emotion and humor.

Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the sequel also introduces ten debutant actors, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
