Lena is an Indian film actress who recently grabbed the headlines after revealing her husband”s name Captain Prasanth Balakrishna Nair on Tuesday. She unveiled the news right after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the names of the four astronauts selected for India’s Gaganyaan Mission.

She announced the details of the marriage through her Instagram post. Malayalam actress tied the knot with Prasanth on January 17. Lena Kumar is an Indian actress, author, and scriptwriter who appeared predominantly in Malayalam cinemas.

Lena made her debut in Jayaraj’s Sneham. In her 25 years of career in the film industry, the actress has worked in over 175 films in 5 languages. She also acted as a lead actress in the Malayalam television industry in serials like Omanathinkalpakshi, Ohari, Malayogam and Thadankalpalayam before entering the film industry. Her role in the film “Traffic” was critically acclaimed.

Hailing from Thrissur district, Kerala, Lena was earlier married to filmmaker Abhilash Kumar. She tied the knot with her childhood love in 2004 but later got separated in 2013.

In 2023, Lena published her first book as the author titled Autobiography of God. She in her interview with the Hindu said that the word ‘autobiography’ might be misleading and the book is a pure work of fiction. She further added that the book is the sum of her experience over the years.

Actress Lena made headlines during her interview regarding the book release. She shared her experience of consuming psychedelic mushrooms being a clinical psychologist and how she has experimented with it on herself. However, the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists, Kerala Region (IACP KR) issued a statement dismissing the actress’s claim and confirmed that Lena is not a qualified licensed psychologist registered under the Rehabilitation Council of India, reports TOI.

In her interview, she also talked about her spiritual journey and her recollection of her past lives. Her comment on being a Buddhist monk in her previous life also caught media attention.

On the work front, Lena was last seen in the film Qalb, Achan Oru Vazha Vechu, Article 21, Olam and Anuragam. The Malayalam actress is known for her impeccable acting chops. Her acting skills rightly fit into any role, be it the role of a young lover, or an elderly mother. She effortlessly breathes life into the characters and her effort has been always lauded by cinephiles and critics alike.
