“This is the textbook on how to celebrate and direct your idol!” said one reviewer, praising Adhik Ravi pulling it off “like a pro.”

And also a shoutout by the fan: “Special shoutout to that 3D animation scene explaining about the world dons — just mind-blowing stuff!”

“Freak out entertainer! AK the super star larger than life image maximised, oozing with charisma, slow mo, punch line & throwback scenes as every frame is a fanboy celebration,” exclaimed one fan. He also observed that Arjun Das was the “surprise packet” while Trisha was perfectly cast.

The only downside? “Hardly any story line or logic.”

Another reviewer observed that the film has a solid first half, the latter half feels stretched out. “A few mass blocks have come out very well and it is nice seeing Ajith back in a vintage way. However, the film does not have much of a story or emotional connect and banks on many typical build up elevations and action blocks which get tiring after a point. BGM is apt but definitely had a scope to be better and elevate more scenes. Production Values are good. May not fully meet expectations but is definitely a better movie from Ajith in recent times and can give it a try for some enjoyable mass moments and to see a vintage mass Ajith,” said the netizen.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Good Bad Ugly is a nostalgic ride for all fans of Ajith Kumar into his celebrated career. Filming spanned across Hyderabad, Spain, and the UK, concluding in December 2024. With music composed by GV Prakash, the cinematography was handled by Abinandhan Ramanujam.
