"Senapathy Is Back In Style!": Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 Trailer Out

28 years ago, the vigilante film Indian, starring ‘Ulaganayakan’ Kamal Haasan, was released, making waves across audiences. Now, the iconic Senapathy is making his comeback. Reuniting director S Shankar with Haasan, the trailer for the much-anticipated sequel Indian 2 dropped on Tuesday evening, where Haasan reprises the role of the freedom fighter turned vigilante.

The powerful trailer begins with people struggling against the flaws of the system, with growing unemployment, corruption, and injustice seeping in every nook and cranny of the country. As Sidharth’s character questions the system, the hope for a change comes with Senapathy making his return in what seems to be a variety of disguises.

“This is the second war of Independence! You take the Gandhian approach, I will take Netaji’s approach,” says Haasan in his deep baritone voice as the action amps up in what appears to be a powerful and electrifying sequel.

Sharing the trailer, the makers announced, “SENAPATHY is back in style! The much-awaited Indian2 Trailer is OUT NOW, packed with breathtaking action and visuals that will keep you hooked.”

Apart from Haasan and Sidharth, the film also stars Nedumudi Venu, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, S. J. Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, and Gulshan Grover, among others.

Helmed by Shankar, the movie is bankrolled by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions and co-produced by Red Giant Movies. The music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander, and cinematography by Ravi Varman.

Indian 2 will hit theatres on July 12.
