Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan is back, and this time, he’s bringing royal company. As the superstar films his highly anticipated action-thriller King, the internet is buzzing with one question: Is Ed Sheeran making his Bollywood debut in the movie?

After the massive success of Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan’s next filmKing, is already making waves, despite not having released a teaser yet.

Directed by Siddharth Anand (the man behind War and Pathaan), King is shaping up to be one of SRK’s boldest and most emotional films yet. Not only does it feature action and a star-studded cast, but it also marks SRK’s first-ever on-screen pairing with his daughter, Suhana Khan.

Joining them are notable names such as Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Arshad Warsi. With that kind of ensemble, expectations were already sky-high. But now — throw in Ed Sheeran?

Just weeks after his India tour, English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran dropped his latest single, Sapphire, a collaboration with India’s musical maestro Arijit Singh.

The music video, now trending globally, features none other than Shah Rukh Khan in a surprise cameo. In a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video released by Ed on YouTube, the singer is seen goofing around with SRK, recording some lines in Punjabi — and then casually mentioning he’s also recorded a Hindi version of the track for a Bollywood film.

A fan page posted the BTS clip on Instagram, speculating whether Ed was referring to a Hindi version of Sapphire or an entirely new song. Ed Sheeran himself commented on the post, clearing the air: “The Hindi song was for a Bollywood movie SRK is doing, this is the Punjabi version of Sapphire with Arijit. I’m just doing all languages at this point.”

Considering King is the only movie Shah Rukh is shooting right now, fans immediately connected the dots.

In the same BTS clip, Ed is spotted chilling in a recording studio with director Siddharth Anand. While neither Ed nor Siddharth has confirmed the project publicly, the presence of the director during the recording process has added serious weight to the speculation.

If all lines up, it would mean Ed Sheeran is not just collaborating on a track — he’s entering Bollywood with a proper film song, quite possibly for King. This would mark the British superstar’s official Bollywood debut.

Ed Sheeran is no stranger to global fusion. He’s worked with artists like Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, and more. But collaborating with Arijit Singh and potentially singing in Hindi? That’s a first.

What We Know About King (So Far)

While production details are still under wraps, King is believed to be a slick, emotional action drama with Shah Rukh playing a character unlike any he’s done before. The father-daughter dynamic with Suhana Khan is reportedly central to the story, with Deepika and Rani playing key roles.

As of now, King is still in production, and no official release date has been announced. But with the hype building and now the Ed Sheeran buzz, expect a teaser or motion poster in the coming months, likely with a major reveal of the soundtrack.
