The sequel of the 2018 Stree hit theatres today, and the unanimous verdict appears to be that Stree 2 lives up to the hype and is worth it. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee, the sequel picks up from where it left off.

While people of Chanderi look up to the infamous Stree for their protection, a new threat emerges: Sarkata. His mission? To abduct women and imprison them in his dungeon. However, with Vicky (Rajkummar), Stree (Shraddha) herself, and some crossover support (no spoilers here), our heroes are not weak either.

Also directed by Amar Kaushik, the film has sharp writing with pop culture references “smartly woven” into the script, along with improved VFX. The film hit the mark, according to India Today.

With a strong cast that makes up when the storytelling falters, Stree 2 is funny and has some good jump scares as well.

While Rajkummar Rao nails his comic timing and is simply effortless as always, and Shraddha gets an impressive entry and does her job well, but it is Abhishek that shines as the hilarious Jana, writes Hindustan Times.

Pankaj Tripathi once again shows his mastery over taking simple and average lines and elevating them with his deadpan delivery. Hindustan Times comes to the conclusion that with the trio of Rajkummar, Abhishek, and Aparshakti, along with Pankaj, the comedy punches hit where it hurts.
