'Stree 3' 'Munjya 2': Maddock Films Announces 8 Exclusive Horror Films (Image-Instagram/verma.abhay_)
Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films made a major announcement for 2025, commemorating this New Year. Guess what? The filmmaker unveiled the list of films lined for release, which are part of their horror-comedy universe called the Maddock Supernatural Universe (MSU).
Fans are eagerly waiting for the previously announced films of the franchise, namely Stree 3 and Thama. The makers unveiled a list of 8 exclusive films, which are ready to haunt and tickle us between the years 2025 and 2027.
Interestingly, it is not just the announcement of films. Maddock Films has also announced the release date of the upcoming films. Promising the audience to experience a mixed ride of emotions, the makers announced that the film will take us on a wild ride of laughter, spooks, thrills, and screams.

Here is the list of 8 films in the pipeline to expand the MSU.
- Thama – Diwali 2025
- Shakti Shalini – 31 December, 2025
- Bhediya 2– 14 August, 2026
- Chamunda – 4 December, 2026
- Stree 3 – 13 August, 2027
- Maha Munjya – 24 December 2027
- Phela Mahayudh – 11 August 2028
- Doosara Mahayudh – 18 October 2028
The 2025 releases, Thama and Shakti Shalini are completely new films of the Maddock horror comedy universe. While the vampire love story Thama features the fresh pairing of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, along with Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shakti Shalini reportedly features Kiara Advani in the lead (there are no confirmations yet).
For 2026, their horror-comedy universe will bring back Varun Dhawan as the mighty wolf. Bhediya 2 will be released in theatres on August 14. Now it only remains to see if Kriti Sanon will also be reprising her role, as her character might not be dead. Maddock Films’ second movie for 2026 is also a new one, Chamunda. Speculations are rife that Jigra actress Alia Bhatt may be a part of the project.

In 2028, audiences will get to see two horror-comedy films of the same franchise called Mahayudh. The first part called Pehla Mahayudh will be released on August 11 and Dusra Mahayudh will be released on October 18. Details about the project remain under wraps.
As the past films of this leading production house brought exciting and interesting storylines, now it’s time to see whether the makers would be able to bring back the same magic to the screens.
