Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering in Lilavati Hospital after a brutal stabbing at his Mumbai residence early this morning. The incident has raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, CCTV footage has provided a breakthrough, capturing the suspect at the crime scene. The video evidence is now being analysed to aid the investigation.
The attack occurred around 2:30 am when an intruder entered Saif and Kareena Kapoor’s Bandra residence. According to reports, the actor intervened in a heated altercation between the assailant and a housekeeper, which escalated violently. Saif suffered six injuries, including two deep cuts, one dangerously close to his spine and another near his neck.

The Mumbai police, now investigating the matter, suspect the housekeeper may have facilitated the intruder’s entry into the house. Authorities have detained her for questioning, believing she may hold critical information about the attacker. Seven police teams have been deployed to track the suspect, who reportedly fled after being locked in a room during the chaos.
Saif underwent surgery following the attack and is reportedly out of danger. However, he remains in the intensive care unit under observation for 24 hours. His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children, Taimur and Jeh, were in the house during the incident but are unharmed.
The attack has sparked political controversy, with opposition parties questioning the state’s security apparatus. Nationalist Congress Party patriarch Sharad Pawar criticised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also oversees the home ministry, for failing to ensure public safety. “Such incidents should be taken seriously,” Pawar stated.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray called the attack “shocking,” highlighting it as evidence of Maharashtra’s deteriorating law and order. He accused the government of failing to curb rising crime rates, citing other recent violent incidents.
