Preity Zinta’s iconic portrayal of Preeti Nair in the Bollywood classic “Dil Se” has left an indelible mark on audiences. Preity Zinta‘s radiant presence in the “Jiya Jale” song from the movie adds an ethereal charm to the mesmerizing visuals, captivating viewers with her grace and charisma.

However, the story behind her without make-up look in the film has now come to light, shedding new light on the actress’s dedication to her craft.

In a recent social media post, Zinta shared an image from the sets of “Dil Se,” accompanied by a revealing anecdote. She recounted how on the first day of shooting with acclaimed director Mani Ratnam and co-star Shah Rukh Khan, Ratnam politely requested her to wash her face.

Initially taken aback by the unusual request, Zinta humorously questioned the director, expressing concern that her makeup would be removed. However, Ratnam’s insistence on a fresh-faced appearance for the scene became apparent.

With the support of the talented Director of Photography, Santosh Sivan, Zinta embraced the director’s vision and filmed the scene with a newly washed face, a decision that added authenticity to her character portrayal.

Zinta’s candid revelation offers a glimpse into the meticulous attention to detail and commitment to authenticity that characterized the making of “Dil Se.”

“Dil Se,” 1998 cinematic masterpiece directed by Mani Ratnam, is a classic tale of love and conflict set against the backdrop of political unrest. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, the film intricately weaves together themes of passion, patriotism, and sacrifice.
