Thalapathy Vijay”s Leo fever is not going to subside anytime sooner. The movie, one of the most anticipated releases of the year, hit the theatres on October 19 and fans are celebrating the action-thriller exceeding its hypes. In terms of box office records also, the movie is setting new mark. As per the Day 5 collection records, the movie has gained over Rs. 200 crore in the domestic market, and grosses Rs. 400 crore worldwide. Besides, Lokesh Kanagaraj”s directorial is currently the highest earning film in Vijay”s career.

As per the estimates released by Comscore, Leo secured third position at the global box office over the latest weekend. In its debut, the blockbuster has earned $31.2 million worldwide. Aside from that in terms of worldwide cumulative among new releases, Thalapathy“s movie outperformed Leonardo DiCaprio”s Killers of the Flower Moon and collected $48.5 million (after four days) in comparison with the $44 million scored by the latter.

According to Variety report, Leo was released by Prathyangira Cinemas in the U.S. earned $2.1 million over the weekend. Ahimsa Entertainment  released the movie in U.K. and Ireland and collected £1.07 million ($1.3 million) in its first three days of release.

The movie also features stellar starcast including Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Madonna Sebastian, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and George Maryan. Leo is produced by S.S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banner of Seven Screen Studio. Leo”s music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander.

This is the second time, Vijay is teaming up with Mr Kanagaraj after Master. Leo is director”s latest installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), after Kaithi and Vikram.
