Ten who were stuck in the lift of a restaurant-cum-bar in West Delhi rescued on Monday after three-hour operation, officials said. The incident happened in the lift of the Illume The Soir Bar at Pusa Road, Rajinder Nagar. When the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received the information around 2.50 am, officials rushed to the place.

Since the lift got jammed between the 1st and the 2nd floor, the fire force team encountered a difficult situation. The team then cut open the roof of the lift to ensure safe escape of the trapped people. The rescue concluded around 6.30 am.

However, the reasons behind the lift incident is yet to locate. The Indian Express reported that no First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged in the case, and a representative of the bar added that no such incident took place on their property. The officials reported that when the bar shut down at 1 am, it took time for the final group of customers to leave, it was then the incident happened.

DFS chief Atul Garg said that the property had required fire certificate, and in the purview of the incident they will send a notice to the bar to close functioning. “We will send the notice on Tuesday to shut down the club so that we can carry out an inspection along with police and municipal authorities,” The Indian Express quotes as Atul Garg is saying.

Earlier in the July last year, 10 persons were rescued by the fire force team when they got trapped inside the elevator of the building in the South Extension area. They got stuck inside the lift when they were trying to go to the ground floor of the building after coming out from the club named Code Club on the third floor. During that time also, DFS has written to close the club to examine the building sites.
