16-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit By Friends Outside His School In Shivamogga; Sparks Tension

Shivamogga, Karnataka: A 16-year-old boy, Sanketh, died outside a government school in Sulaebailu allegedly after being hit by some of his friends in Karnataka’s Shivamogga.

The incident has sparked tension in the locality, with police deploying a large force in the area, The New Indian Express reported. The tragic incident happened when the victim teenager had come to attend a special class ahead of the SSLC examination.

According to Superintendent of Police Nikhil B told reporters, Sanketh intervened in an argument involving a group of boys outside his school. The officials said that some friends — also minors — who were known to him were involved, and they allegedly hit Sanketh with their hands.

Unfortunately, the boy collapsed immediately after being struck. The boy had died by the time he was taken to the hospital, the police said.  “He was struck near the chest. Due to that blow, he collapsed on the spot,” the SP said, adding that two minors have been taken into custody in this connection with the case.
