Gujrathi said that he had called Ikea India over 20 times but there has been no proper response or resolution.
“Over a month since I placed my @IKEAIndia order. Still pending. 20+ calls, no resolution. Terrible communication & mismanagement. @IKEA is this what you call service? 🤷♂️ I hate tweeting about these things, but maybe this will finally make you hear & act? Low hopes :/” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Gujrathi, ranked among India’s top chess players, typically maintains a low profile on social media. But his latest post has since gained traction online, with several users echoing similar complaints about delays and customer service issues with the Swedish furniture giant’s Indian arm.
IKEA India has not issued a formal response as of Wednesday evening.
Another X user echoed the poor customer service and delay. “We had bought a few items from @IKEAIndia in early May. Firstly delivery was delayed. We contacted them and next week 1 item less was delivered. We had to visit the store to resolve and a month later the wrong product came. Now we asked for return and they aren’t responding again,” they said.

Another netizen said, “Same here. Terrible service. Had to go for offline stuff. Offline stuff is high quality though, didn’t expect it.”
Ikea entered the Indian market in 2018 with high expectations around affordability and convenience but has faced operational challenges in scaling its delivery and logistics systems, particularly in high-demand regions like Mumbai and Bengaluru.
