After a heated dispute over red sauce between a momos-seller and a customer, the 23-year-old street vendor stabbed on the face of a 32-year-old customer multiple times. The accused was provoked for demanding extra sauce.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning in northeast Delhi’s Farsh Baza, according to the police. The attacker who was identified as Vikas, escaped after stabbing his customer. The victim was identified as Sandeep who runs a small mobile charger making unit in Bholanath Nagar in Shahdara area. Sandeep was admitted to the nearby hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.
The accused was later arrested from the region and the weapon used for crime was recovered. Vikas said to police that the victim had requested twice for extra sauce for one plate of momos, when he refused, he started abusing him after being told about the limited stock. “Vikas lost his temper and attacked,” the police added, reports Times of India.
Deputy commissioner of police Rohit Meena said that on Wednesday evening, they received a call at the police control room regarding a stabbing incident. The police team reached the crime spot and learned that Kumar Sandeep, had suffered two stab wounds to his face and was rushed to nearby hospital, reports Hindustan Times.
Police are verifying the testimony. A case of attempt of murder was registered against him under the section 307 of Indian penal code at the farsh bazar police station.
