Delhi Traffic Police has imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on a motorcycle rider for reckless riding, making a woman sit on the fuel tank of the bike while she is hugging him. The video of the rider with the woman has gone viral on social media, with netizens pointing out the dangerous driving, imperiling the lives of others on public roads.

In the video, the man is seen riding the bike with no helmet on the busy road and overtaking other vehicles, while the woman is sitting on the fuel tank, hugging him, facing towards the rider.

The police said that they checked the video and tracked the culprit. Initially, police could not trace the vehicle as the flashing of light from the backside shadowed the numberplate of the motorcycle, making it difficult to decipher. However, after checking the CCTV footage of the area, the police learned the time the incident took place was between 1 am and 1.15 am on September 15. The motorcycle was then identified, and the owner, a resident of Mohan Garden, has been prosecuted for multiple traffic violations, including driving without a helmet, dangerous driving, and riding without a license.

The dangerous driving poses a significant threat to fellow passengers on the public road, with many instances of fatalities being reported across the country. The police have become more vigilant towards reckless drivers, identifying and penalizing them to prevent recurrences. Police have installed multiple CCTV cameras in their efforts to enhance traffic rules compliance.
