Chaos At Delhi's Jantar Mantar.: CJP Protesters Clash With Police Amid Lathicharge
New Delhi: As Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its supporters gathered in large number to begin its ‘Chalo Sansad’ protest march today, police reportedly resorted to lathicharge. The protesters have clashed with Delhi police, after the cops denied permission for large gathering.
The CJP has urged all of its supporters who have gathered for the protest march to Parliament to remain calm. The party workers alleged that the police is making it hard for its workers to reach for the march with many Metro stations closed.
The CJP has been protesting to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and accountability for massive paper leaks and botched national entrance exams like NEET-UG. The protest escalated recently after police forcibly hospitalised prominent climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike for more than 20 days for the same cause.
Wangchuk, who has called his hospitalisation an illegal detention, has agreed to end his hunger strike if his three conditions are met.
