CJP Protest At Jantar Mantar: Abhijeet Dipke Leads Demonstration, Demands Dharmendra Pradhan's Resignation
New Delhi: The online youth movement known as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held a major protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak and concerns surrounding CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
The protest was led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who arrived in India from Boston earlier in the day.
Shortly after landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Dipke joined hundreds of students and young professionals gathered at Jantar Mantar.
The demonstration marked the first major on-ground mobilisation by the digital movement, which gained significant popularity on social media in recent weeks.
Protesters carried placards, books and the Indian national flag, while many wore symbolic cockroach masks associated with the movement.
Participants raised slogans demanding accountability in the education system, including “Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa Do” and “We asked for Make in India, you gave us Leak in India.”
Before reaching the protest venue, Dipke urged supporters to maintain peace and discipline. In a social media post, he encouraged participants to carry books and offer flowers to police personnel as a gesture of gratitude, stressing that the movement should be guided by “love and peace.”
The Cockroach Janta Party claims that its protest is focused on issues affecting students across the country, including alleged irregularities in examinations such as NEET, CBSE, CUET and SSC recruitment tests.
The organisation has argued that repeated controversies surrounding examinations have damaged students’ trust in the education system.
According to the group, Delhi Police granted permission for the protest at Jantar Mantar, allowing supporters to gather directly at the venue. Security arrangements were put in place across the area, with police personnel deployed to manage the crowd.
Hundreds of students, schoolchildren accompanied by parents, college students and young professionals participated in the protest. The movement also received support from activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had earlier stated that he would undertake a fast if Dipke was arrested.
As the demonstration continued, Dipke accused authorities of targeting the movement’s social media presence instead of addressing the concerns raised by students.
