Congress's ‘Vote Chori’ Rally Against Government Begins At Ramlila Maidan In Delhi

The Congress party’s much-anticipated ‘Vote Chori, Gaddi Chhod’ rally has begun today at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, marking a major political event amid rising tensions between the government and the Opposition.

The rally started in the afternoon and has already begun drawing large crowds of party leaders, workers, and supporters from different parts of the country.

The rally comes just days after a heated debate in the Lok Sabha, where the Congress and other Opposition parties accused the government of manipulating the electoral process through the special intensive revision of electoral rolls.

The Congress has repeatedly alleged “vote chori” (vote theft) and claims that democratic institutions are being weakened.

Several senior Congress leaders are expected to attend and address the gathering.

These include Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K C Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, and Sachin Pilot. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi is also likely to be present at the rally.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is among other prominent leaders expected to participate.

Speaking ahead of the rally, senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel said the party has launched a decisive political battle through this programme.

“Our party has organised the ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ rally at Ramlila Maidan. A large number of people will attend this rally,” he said, according to ANI.

The Congress leadership has made extensive preparations to ensure strong participation.

According to TOI , 1,027 Congress leaders and activists began their journey from Jammu on Saturday to reach Delhi for the rally.

While travelling, they raised slogans such as “vote chore, gaddi chhore” and “Delhi chalo”, highlighting the party’s protest message, PTI reported.

Leaders from eastern India have also reached the capital in large numbers.

Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh described the rally as a historic moment for the party.

He said that the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee had made elaborate arrangements and that party workers and representatives from across the state had already arrived in Delhi.

As the rally has just begun, more leaders are expected to arrive at Ramlila Maidan, and key speeches are likely to follow later in the day.
