Congress Slams Modi Government For Giving Clean Chit To China

In response to the NDA-led government”s remark that China couldn”t encroach a single inch of India, the Congress has accused the Modi government of giving a “clean chit” to China. AICC General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that each time the BJP is giving clean chit to China, the ruling party makes it harder for India to deal with China’s illegal encroachment.

Jairam Ramesh”s remark came after Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that China couldn”t encroach a “single inch” of land under the Narendra Modi government. He further claimed that people will never forget how former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru said “bye-bye” to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh during the 1962 Chinese aggression.

Jairam Ramesh slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement, he called it a profound insult to fallen soldiers in Galwan. “The Modi government has been raining clean chits on China for its aggression against India. After the Prime Minister”s public clean chit on 19 June 2020 and the Home Minister”s clean chit on 9 April 2024 comes a third clean chit from the External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar. Clearly, this is all orchestrated by the Super Sutradhar himself,” the statement read.

Jairam Ramesh alleged that the Modi government has accepted buffer zones that lie predominantly in areas that Indian troops once freely accessed.

Commenting on the response of S Jaisankar on a video showing PLA troops harassing and blocking shepherds access to grazing areas near Patrolling points, the Congress leader stated that Indian authorities have reportedly asked the shepherds not to return to the area. Meanwhile, “the MEA response is par for the course when it comes to China”.

Jairam Ramesh further alleged that the Modi government in the past four years has been trying to cover up “the worst territorial setback in six decades for India with its DDLJ approach: Deny, Distract, Lie and Justify”. “Mr Jaishankar’s latest statement only highlights the extent of the Modi government’s submission to Chinese aggression,” he added.
