Mumbai, Maharashtra: In a story straight out of the movies, a lyricist from Salman Khan’s upcoming movie, Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for issuing a death threat against the actor and himself. The 24-year-old Sohel Pasha was arrested from Karnataka’s Raichur by the crime branch. He has been handed over to the Worli station.
According to the police, the lyricist had called the Mumbai traffic control on November 7 and issued a threat message that stated that both Salman and Sohel would be killed if Rs 5 crore was not paid as ransom.

“The songwriter’s condition will be such that he will no longer be able to write songs. If Salman Khan has the courage, he should save them,” read the message.
Pasha is the lyricist of the song ‘Main Sikandar Hun’ from the Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sikandar.
Following the threat message, an FIR was registered at Worli police station.
During the investigation, the Mumbai crime branch traced the phone number from which the threat was sent to a man called Venkatesh Narayanan in Karnataka. However, they soon found out that Narayanan had a basic phone without WhatsApp. When the man was questioned after the police found a message on the phone that had an OTP to install WhatsApp on November 3, Narayanan revealed that he had gone to a bazaar in Raichur when a man asked for his phone, citing a family emergency.
The police identified the man as Pasha. He was soon arrested from his residence.

Pasha was taken to Mumbai and produced in court. He has been sent to police custody for two days.
