Two men in Madhya Pradesh were arrested under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in separate incidents for sexually abusing cows after disturbing videos surfaced online.

Madhya Pradesh: Two Men Arrested For Allegedly Having Unnatural Sex With Cows

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Two men were arrested for allegedly indulging in unnatural sex with cows in two separate incidents in Madhya Pradesh.

The first incident reportedly occurred in Indore, which came to light after a video of the incident surfaced on social media. Soon cow activists and other Hindu organisations staged a protest on Tuesday.

According to officials, a police team reached the spot and scanned CCTV cameras installed in nearby buildings, which confirmed the incident. After conducting a search, the accused, identified as Vijay Ahirwar, was arrested by the police. Ahirwar works as a labourer in a factory in Indore.

“Accused has been booked under the ‘Pashu Krurta Adhiniyam’ (Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960). He is accused of inflicting, causing, or permitting unnecessary pain or suffering to an animal, which is a criminal offense under Indian law,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Rajesh Dandotia told media persons.

Another incident was reported at a village in Mandsaur district, nearly 200km from Indore, under the jurisdiction of Afzalpur police station.

Much like the first case, a video of the second incident surfaced on social media, prompting police action.

The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Dwarka Goswami, a resident of Mandsaur, who went into his uncle’s cowshed on Monday night and indulged in unnatural sex with a cow.

Upon noticing the same, some children reportedly recorded the video, which later went viral on social media.

A case was registered against Goswami under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Following his arrest, Goswami was paraded by police on Tuesday.
