Major Takeaways From Prime Minister Modi’s 105th ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his “Mann ki baat” today in the 105th edition of the programme. It is a radio programme where the Prime Minister talks to the citizens of India about the relevant themes and current issues of the country. Mann ki baat was first launched in October 2014.

He said that he got the opportunity to share “the success of the country, the success of the countrymen, their inspiring kife journey”.

The Prime Minister talks about Chandrayaan -3″s soft landing on the lunar surface and that its video has garnered around 80 lakh views. He also said about celebrating August 23, the day on which Vikram lander set foot on moon, as National Space Day.

Mr. Modi talked about the success of the G20 summit and the new India-Middle East-Europe mega economic corridor. He said, “This corridor is going to become the basis of world trade for hundreds of years to come, and history will always remember that this corridor was initiated on Indian soil”.

PM Modi also urged the university students to participate in the G20 University connect programme which will take place on September 26th. Prestigious institutions like Medical Colleges, IITs and NITs will participate in the programme, said the Prime Minister.

World Tourism Day will be celebrated on September 27. He shared about how more than one lakh delegates who were present in the G20 summit got to experience the textures of India”s diverse traditions, cuisines and heritages. Shanitiniketan and Hoysala temples of Karanataka were added to  the World Heritage List of UNESCO recently making the “total number of World Heritage Property in India” to be 42.

While appreciating the significance of book, PM Modi lauded Uttarakhand”s “Ghoda Library”. He said the biggest flex of the Godha Library is its free service and how children from the most remote areas could get their hands on the book.

He also asked parents to urge their children to read books. According to Mr. Modi, though today”s era is “of Digital Technology and E-Books” the ordinary books always plays the role of a “friend” and thus parents should “motivate children to read books”.

By saying “you must remember the mantra of Vocal for Local”, Mr. Modi reminded people to buy products made in India as the festive seasons are on in the country.
