After Two Years, Manipur Gangrape Victim, 20-Year-Old Kuki Woman Dies
Manipur: A Kuki woman who underwent gangrape after being kidnapped by a group of men from Manipur’s capital Imphal died allegedly due to illness caused and aggravate by the trauma of the horrific act.
The family was waiting for their daughter to get justice in the sexual assault. The family said that she had not recovered from the physical injuries driven the gangrape two years ago. The assault adversely impacted her health.

As per the first information report (FIR), the 20-year-old woman was allegedly taken to a hilly area by four armed men in black shirts, where three of them took turns to rape her.
The mother of the victim said that she was a very lively and outgoing girl before the brutality. But after the sexual assaults, her interest in academics diminished and her connections with friends also dimmed.
Explaining the ordeal, the woman had narrated the incident that she was taken away in a white Bolero by four men and three of them sexually assaulted her in a hill, except the driver.
“Whatever miserable things that they could do to me, they did and the whole night I was not given anything to eat. They didn’t even give water. In the morning, somehow, on the pretext of going to the washroom… I removed the blindfold and tried to look at what was around and what was happening. After that I took the decision to run down the hill and escape,” NDTV quoted the woman.
