In his first assembly session since resigning as the chief minister of Delhi, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday unleashed a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The former chief minister said that the opposition BJP would be sad to see him and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the assembly. “My colleagues in the opposition must be sad to see Manish Sisodia and me here,” AAP chief remarked. Both the leaders returned to the state assembly after the Supreme Court granted bail to them. “I always say Prime Minister Modi is very powerful and has a lot of resources, but Modi is not God. The God who is there is with us. I want to thank the Supreme Court,” the AAP chief said.

The former chief minister is holding seat number 41, next to Manish Sisodia. Replacing the AAP supremo, Atishi took over the charge as Delhi’s new chief minister on September 23, stating that it is Kejriwal’s chair. The AAP leader has also hinted that he would take the position only if the people of Delhi gave their mandate to his party. He has served as chief minister of Delhi for nearly a decade, bringing several reforms, withstanding the saffron threats.
Kejriwal spent more than five months in jail before the Supreme Court granted bail on September 13 in the liquor policy scam along with many other AAP leaders. The chief minister had earlier stated about completing several pending works and accused the BJP of derailing the Delhi government’s operations.
