New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh recently stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will only retire after achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. When asked about the BJP’s choice for leadership in the coming years, the defense minister said there is no vacancy for the PM’s post for many elections to come.

During an interview with India Today TV, Rajnath Singh asserted, “It’s simple truth…there is no vacancy for the Prime Minister’s post in the near future. Modi ji will continue to be our candidate in 2029, 2034 and beyond.”

He further explained his association with the Prime Minister tracing back to the 1980s, while praising Modi’s ability to connect with people and leadership skills. Highlighting Modi’s leadership acumen, Singh claimed even the world’s top leaders seek his advice on global matters.

Recalling the BJP’s decision to name Modi as its campaign convenor in 2013 and later its prime ministerial candidate with the parliamentary board’s backing, the defense minister said that there was no disrespect to senior leader Lal Krishna Advani, adding the mood of the country had demanded Modi’s leadership.
