The Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested Mihir Shah – key accused in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case. The arrest was made three days after his speeding BMW killed a woman named Kaveri Nakhwa in the city’s Worli area on Sunday.
Mumbai BMW Hit-And-Run Case: 10 Key Developments
- The 24-year-old Mihir Shah located from an apartment in Virar, around 65 km from Mumbai, NDTV reports.
- Police also arrested 12 other people in connection with the case.
- Mihir Shah has been taken to the Worli Police Station.
- As per reports, Police believe that the mother and sisters helped Mihir Shah in his absconding which resulted in the delay in arrest for over 72 hours.
- CCTV footages indicates that Kaveri Nakhwa being dragged by the car for 1.5 kilometres.
- The car was registered under Mihir’s father and Shiv Sena leader (Shinde faction) Rajesh Shah’s name and vehicle’s insurance expired in May.
- The police has booked a case under multiple sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
- Rajesh Shah who had been arrested on Sunday, received bail a day later.
- The court extended the police custody of driver Rajrishi Bidawat till July 11.
- The Excise Department today sealed Vice Global Tapas Bar where Mihir Shah held a party with his friends.
