Mumbai: Girl, Woman Killed, Several Injured In Electrocution At Drinking Water Stall Near Ganapati Pandal
Mumbai, Maharashtra: In a tragic incident, at least two person including an eight-year-old girl and another women lost their lives in electrocution near the Kalachowki Vibhag Sarvajanik Ustav Mandal in Lalbaug on Sunday, September 20.
Several other people also sustained injuries in the incident. A a 12-year-old girl is receiving treatment at a hospital and is in critical condition. The incident occurred at around 2.20 am near the Ustav Mandal, where a fault at a temporary drinking water stall caused the electrocution.

Raghni’s aunt Kismati Yadav recounted standing near festival lights to avoid the crowd when the incident struck, She slammed the organisers for seating Ganpati idols without proper safety checks. Police and fire services responded swiftly, rushing victims to Masina Hospital and Global Hospital.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the electrical lapses in the facilities set up for the ongoing Ganapati festival.
