Edited by Kabani R

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday will address a large number of first time voters in the country as part of National Voters’ Day. The interaction conducted on the lines of ‘NaMo Nav Matadata Sammelan’, is organised by the youth wing of the BJP, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

“This is the first time a PM is addressing first time voters at such a scale and reminding them of their responsibilities in nation building,” BJP wrote in their social media platform X.

BJYM president Tejasvi Surya told the media that young voters played a significant role in electing Narendra Modi as Prime Minister in 2014 and then in the re-election in 2019. He stated that there are exceptional opportunities for youngsters in the BJP-led NDA government, and they are very excited to elect Modi as prime minister for a third term.

The conference, spanning 5,000 locations nationwide, targets one crore first-time voters aged between 18 and 25, and they will virtually connect with PM Modi. This is the first time a Prime Minister will be interacting with such massive number of youth voters in the country.

January 25 which marks the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI), has been celebrated annually as the National Voters’ Day. The day aims to advance people’s participation in elections, especially young voters, and increase awareness about the electoral process.
