Newlywed Couple Killed In Hit-And-Run On NH-48 In Karnataka's Tumakuru
Tumakuru, Karnataka: In a hit and run accident, a newlywed couple was killed after an unidentified vehicle rammed into their motorcycle on National Highway 48 in Karnataka’s Tumkuru district. The incident occurred near Dwaraalu Bridge in Sira taluk on Wednesday, September 16.
The deceased have been identified as Darshan (25) and Usharani (21), residents of Hunasekatte village. The couple, who had married just one and a half months ago, was travelling towards Bengaluru on their motorcycle when an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit them from behind, leaving them dead.

While Darshan died on the spot, Usharani sustained critical injuries and succumbed while being taken to hospital. Tavarekere Police has registered a case, and launched a search for the vehicle and its driver.
The officials are examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the accused to track the accused driver and vehicle.
