'No Right To Drive Here': Right-Wing Group Makes Anti-Muslim Graffiti On Ghaziabad Highway Barriers

Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh: Suggesting that Muslims should have no right on the national highway, Hindu Raksha Dal (HRD) activists have reportedly written that ‘there is no road for Muslims and this road is not for Muslims’ on Ghaziabad highway with concrete crash barriers and noise walls.

The incident allegedly happened late on February 26 in Uttar Pradesh, and the videos circulating on social media show the group, including female activists, painting hate graffiti in Hindi and English messages on barriers and noise walls.

Speaking about the HRD’s painting on the national highway, the far-right group’s president Pinki Chaudhary called targets ‘jihadis’ who evade taxes. Chaudhary said that these jihadis have no right to drive on the national highway when they don’t pay taxes.

The latest incident is another repetition of the group’s pattern of provocative acts. Earlier, there had been arrests against the HRD activists for distributing swords and anti-Muslim sloganeering.

Several commentators on social media have urged Ghaziabad police and authorities to act under laws against defacing public property and promoting enmity, while condemning the vandalism and hate speech. An X user, Tarun Gautam noted that these extremist would have been banned by now in a civilised country with rule of law, pointing out that Hindu Raksha Dal terrorists wrote this on NH in Ghaziabad. “But since they promote Sangh’s agenda so no action against them,” he added.

There has been no official response yet on the incident.
