The CBI has registered a preliminary enquiry on the alleged “irregularities and misconduct” surrounding the construction of new residential building for Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. On CBI enquiry, Mr Kejriwal responded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is nervous.
The preliminary enquiry constitutes beginning stage of enquiry wherein CBI assess if there is substantial evidence on the allegation to proceed with lodging a formal First Information Report or FIR.
When reporters asked Delhi CM in this regard, he responded: “This shows that the PM is nervous. This is not the first inquiry. They have already had more than 50 inquiries done…They registered more than 33 cases against me. They have been investigating since last 8 years but nothing has been found. So, they have started this new inquiry. This too is welcome. Nothing will be found,” reports ANI.

The AAP leader, then challenges Prime Minister and said: “I also challenge him – just as nothing was found in all the previous inquiries, similarly if nothing is found in this inquiry too, will he resign for making a false inquiry?”

The Chief Secretary’s primary findings points that there are irregularities in the renovation work. The CBI initiation was based on a five-page letter submitted by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to the CBI Director in May.
