Social media platforms always surprise or even shock netizens, as they contain thousands of unusual and unexpected contents. In such a video going viral on social media, netizens can witness an Indian passport being used as a personal phone directory.

The viral video was posted on X by a user named D Prasanth Nair on November 2. “An elderly gentleman submitted his passport for renewal. He was not aware of what someone in his house did. The officer has still not recovered from the shock after seeing this,” wrote the user in the caption while sharing the video on X. The passport was believed to be submitted for renewal at a local passport office in Kerala. In the video, it is clearly seen that an officer is inspecting the passport by going through all the pages. But when the officer was examining the passport, he spotted something very strange.

As seen in the video, several pages of the passport are filled with names and contact numbers. Moreover, the last pages of the passport look similar to a household diary, as they were filled with several calculations. Since being shared, netizens have given hilarious responses to the viral video. While one user described it as “optimum use of resources,” another user commented, “Looks like Passport is used as a telephone directory and an accounts ledger for book keeping.” In 2019, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra too shared a similar video that shows a Korean passport that was scribbled on by a four-year-old boy.
