Sikar, Rajasthan: Amid reports of growing attacks against Dalits and other backward classes, a Dalit youth from Rajasthan’s Sikar district underwent horrific ordeals when he went out to watch a wedding procession in his village.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 8 in Sikar’s Fatehpur area. The two accused, seeing the 19-year-old watching the wedding procession, called him to a bus on the pretext of some work. The duo then took the teenager to an isolated location and sexually and physically harassed him, including unnatural sex.

The FIR was lodged on April 16 in the case after the youth’s family registered a complaint at the police station, police said on Sunday.

According to the complaint, after taking him to a secluded site, the accused beat the victim, forced him to remove his clothes, urinated on him and performed unnatural sex while using casteist slurs.

The perpetrators were drunk. The accused also recorded a video of their acts and “threatened” to share it on social media if he told anyone about the incident. The Dalit youth also alleged that the accused had planned to harm his father, who is currently abroad.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Arvind Kumar said that they have registered an FIR. Medical examination of the victim has been done, and his statement has been recorded. “The matter is being investigated,” the police officer said, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
