“She Ruined My Family”: Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Son Prateek's Post Sparks Divorce Speculation

Prateek Yadav, the younger son of the late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, on Monday publicly announced his decision to divorce his wife, Aparna Yadav, following a controversial social media post.

The post, which has since sparked political and public debate, accused Aparna of destroying family relationships and prioritising personal ambition over marriage.

Taking to Instagram, Prateek shared a photo of Aparna and used strong language, calling her “selfish” and a “family destroyer.”

He alleged that she was responsible for breaking family ties and claimed that he was going through severe mental distress, adding that she showed no concern for his condition.

“I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She ruined my family ties. All she wants is fame and influence,” Prateek wrote, also stating that he felt mentally unwell and unsupported.

Soon after the post went viral, Aparna Yadav’s brother, Aman Bisht, dismissed the claims and said that Prateek’s Instagram account had been hacked, questioning the authenticity of the statements.

No official confirmation has yet been issued by Aparna Yadav herself regarding the allegations or the divorce announcement.

Prateek Yadav and Aparna Yadav were married in 2011 and have a daughter together. The couple has largely stayed away from public controversies in recent years, making the sudden public nature of the announcement all the more striking.

Aparna Yadav began her political career with the Samajwadi Party and contested the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from the Lucknow Cantonment seat, though she lost to BJP leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi. In 2022, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), citing ideological alignment and nationalism.

She currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission, a role that has kept her in the public and political spotlight.

Unlike other members of the Yadav family, Prateek has stayed away from active politics. He is known to be involved in real estate and fitness-related ventures. H is also the brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
