Soborno is the son of Bangladeshi immigrants, Rashidul Bari and Shaheda Bari, who first recognized his academic brilliance—the young prodigy graduated by securing a 98 GPA on a 100-point scale from high school.
He learned the periodic table at the age of two and was able to solve questions of maths, physics and chemistry. Soborno has also received a letter of appreciation from former American President Barack Obama in 2020.
His ambitions are set on pursuing a doctoral program and his parents are immensely proud of their son’s achievements. Apart from being the youngest prodigy, he is also the world’s youngest professor who taught lectures in various colleges and universities since the age of 7. He also skipped the 12 grades after completing his studies in the ninth grade due to his advanced knowledge and understanding of the subjects.
Apart from NYU, he has also enrolled in non-degree classes at several universities including Stony Brook University, the City University of New York and Brooklyn College.
Soborno is also skilled in painting, debate, and piano. A university spokesperson has said to the Bari family, as far as NYU knows, no one younger than Soborno has been admitted.
